Mindi Hansen, Attorney-Mediator

Hansen Mediation Services endeavors to provide a better and less contentious process to resolve your divorce. The traditional adversarial nature of trial and litigation—particularly in disputes involving divorce and custody—can result in significant damage to relationships. Divorce is hard enough, the process of separating your lives should not add to that difficulty. By embracing mediation, you are choosing a voluntary and client-driven process that is more likely to create a functional, business-like, co-parenting relationship.

Mediation is a voluntary process to discuss and resolve the conflict you are facing. As a process of self-determination, mediation utilizes the skills of a neutral third-party mediator to facilitate the conversation, brainstorm solutions, and explore potential resolutions, with the ultimate goal of facilitating a functional and clear agreement.

Mindi practiced high-conflict family-law litigation for almost fifteen years before deciding to transition her practice to mediation. Mindi’s goal as a mediator is to de-escalate emotions and explore resolutions to reach a voluntary agreement. Mediation can also ease the financial burden that is so often created by going to court to resolve your divorce and family conflicts.

There are times when litigation and courtroom practice may still be necessary, but a majority of families don’t need to go to trial to get divorced or to move forward to create a new functional family arrangement. Mediation can help you reach your goals and not break the bank.

While Hansen Mediation Services provides the majority of mediations over Zoom, Mindi can also accommodate in-person mediation at her office in Salt Lake City or she can travel to your attorney’s office from Weber County to Utah County.

Mindi is a Master Mediator who has helped numerous couples to create functional settlement agreements and resolve high conflict family disputes through mediation. She is confident she can do the same for you.
